School dinners are very popular at Bucklebury. Children select their meal choices in the morning when they arrive in school.
All the children sit together to have their meals, except in warm weather – when those having packed lunch (or a school picnic lunch) can sit outside. To save time queuing for meals our school council negotiated for there to be two sittings. Usually Infants have lunch before Juniors, but this is flexible to allow children to do an organised lunchtime activity at a specific time.
Pupils named packed lunch boxes should be placed on a trolley in the classroom when the children arrive in the morning, and are then stored in a cool place until lunchtime.
Lunches are provided by ISS, the local authority contractor.
